Salome Palmer // Head of School

A seasoned educator and visionary leader, Salome brings a decade of experience in Christian education, program development, and institutional leadership to her role at Heritage Academy. Salome holds a B.A. in Music, Biblical Studies, and Comparative Literature from Gordon College, where she graduated as a Global Honors Scholar and Collegian of the Year. She went on to receive her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership where she focused her research on founding school governance and culture.

Her leadership journey includes founding and directing the Heritage Summer Program at Gordon College, a discipleship and academic experience for high school students that received more than $200,000 in grant funding under her direction. The program became known for cultivating intellectual curiosity, spiritual formation, and enduring community among students and staff. She also served as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator at Gordon, where she built partnerships with classical Christian schools, managed new program initiatives, and helped launch a graduate leadership program for Heads of School.

In addition to her work in education, Salome is a member of All Saints Anglican Church, where she serves on the board, leads worship, and participates in an arts collective that brings together visual artists, musicians, and writers in the greater Amesbury community.

Board of Directors

The stewardship and strategic direction of the affairs of the School and the control and disposition of its properties and funds is vested in the Board of Directors. The board’s primary role is to set and uphold the school’s vision, supporting its success and sustainability through policies, financial oversight, governance practices, and strategic planning.

The Board has entrusted the general charge and supervision of the business, property, and affairs of the School to the Head of School, who functions as the Chief Executive Officer. Under the cultivation, direction, and evaluation of the Board, the Head of School ensures that all policies, operations, and school culture are carried into effect.

The Heritage Board is comprised of three committees - an Executive Committee (Board Officers), a Stewardship Committee (oversees fundraising and financial planning), and a Governance & Nomination (oversees Board function, training, and perpetuation).
